Height is not a fault
…it’s always the same story! Very tall people, especially very tall women, have to stand all sorts of humiliating and embarrassing comments on their stature. How many times have you gone out with people that gave in to the temptation to say things like “Oh my god, you are tall!” or “You are taller than me!” or “Oh dear, can you come down the step?”.
Even if it’s clear that this kind of remarks only aim to transform a good physical quality into a fault, they still hurt. Being short is a frustrating condition, a physical treat that is not desirable at all. On the contrary height is always been considered as an unrenounceable component of beauty and this can lead jealous and insensitive people to become impolite and sour.
So guys don’t take it personally! And here I am especially talking to both to young people, who are going through the difficult stage of self-acceptance, and to women, guilty of awakening complexes and frustrations often justifiably suffered from small men.
I’d be curious to know if you’ve ever come across this kind of comment and your reaction…maybe next time this happens to me I could use it!
I’m sure you’re right to complain about rude comments coming from insensitive people. Most of them are slaves of stereotypes. But, talking as a short man, I hope you “don’t put all your eggs in one basket”.

absolutely not! I am talking about “jealous and insensitive people”. Luckily the world is full of nice people too!
It’s just that I remember when I was a teen-ager, it was very difficult for me to believe that height could be something good and to be proud of, the only thing I knew for sure was that I was “different” and I used to suffer daily from comments like the ones I have quoted!
I’d like people were more sensitive or, at least, polite!!!
